Scandinavian know-how and creativity create records

Years ago, Jussi was struggling with multiple health issues, but his life has been changed since he discovered exercise and found the courage to challenge himself and the bravery to attempt new things. Jussi is the holder of a Guinness World Record from 2016, when he ran a marathon carrying a 60 lb (27.2 kg) pack faster than anyone else in the world.

Recently, Jussi has been troubled by back pain, and the idea of the car pushing world record was born when he was rehabilitating his back in 2019. Jussi has been training a few times per week under the watchful eyes of personal trainer Matti Ovaska, and he has also been practicing on his own a few times. Jussi also took part in the Nokian Tyres IRONMAN 70.3 Finland triathlon that was held in Lahti in June 2019; it consisted of 1.9 kilometers of swimming, 90 kilometers of cycling, and a half marathon.  Jussi completed the running section with a car tire on his back.

"The body and mind must be in balance in order to refine our Scandinavian know-how and creativity into the world’s safest, eco-friendlies tires."

For training car pushing, Jussi has been using the Nokian Tyres test track located in Nokia. It was also the scene for the world record.

– My goal for the entire project has been to have a healthier body and mind. My back, supporting muscles, and the entire body had to be in good shape for me to break the record. Striving for the record took me to my actual goal: a good feeling, Jussi says.

– Human well-being is also very important to us. The body and mind must be in balance in order to refine our Scandinavian know-how and creativity into the world’s safest, eco-friendlies tires. This brings peace of mind for all of us, says Technical Customer Service Manager Matti Morri from Nokian Tyres.
